|How to search Historical Records by region, locality, or country|
Search for your ancestors by region at the Historical Records www.familysearch.org/search home page:
For example, if you are searching for a record in Alabama:
In the example below, note that there is a camera icon beside "Alabama, County Marriages, 1809-1950." The icon indicates that images of the records are available, as well as the indexed record.
When you click on Alabama, County Marriages, 1809-1950, a search page will appear.
Click on Search, and a list of records where your ancestor appears as a parent, child, or spouse appears.
On the left side of the screen, you can:
To view details of the record, click on the inverted triangle, or click on the name to open the record.
In order to view the image, click on View image.
To add source information to FamilyTree, click on Add to My Source Box (upper right).
