Symptoms (Problems)
  • Family history center needs an installation disc they cannot purchase from Distribution Services.

Answer (Resolution)

The following compact discs described here, can be ordered from the Family History Department for family history center computers:

  • Resource File Viewer

  • Pedigree Resource File (fix for disc #40)

  • Pedigree Resource File Viewer 4.0 (or 4.02)

  • XnView image editor software

  • The Windows 7 image disc is available only to centers that have computers already licensed with Windows 7 Professional. We are not upgrading any computer that is currently licensed for Windows XP.

FamilySearch 2.27 DOS and the XnView installation discs can be downloaded from the family history center's Tivoli application finder (see In Addition section below).

To request any of these materials the family history center director, stake technology specialist, or priesthood adviser assigned to the family history center, should contact FHC Support. See https://contact.familysearch.org for contact information. Please provide a description of the needed product, and contact information including the center name and/or unit number, the name of a contact person, and the address where order is to be sent.
